Introduction

Groups that have been given sole access to a Safe Harbor Ladder Room named as a Private Ladder Room, have additional responsibilities in addition to those outlined in the Safe Harbor Games Cruise Guidelines (SHGCG).

The following document applies to both the Group as a whole as well and to individual members of the Group. Group Administrators are responsible for ensuring that their members are familiar with the rules outlined in this document. Failure to abide by these rules can result in sanctions being imposed upon individual members or the Group as a whole.

Lobby Etiquette

Any league/ladder lobby is a public space at Safe Harbor Games, whether sole or shared.
Group members are bound by the SHGCG.
Non-group members (players and staff included) may participate in lobby chat and are bound by the SHGCG
Non-group members (players and staff included) are free to enter the lobby and observe games, and are bound by the SHGCG.

Non-members may not play games in the league/ladder rooms.
The exception is to get familiar with the league/ladder in deciding whether to become a member, in which case the non-member must notify any opponent that he or she is not a member of that league/ladder.
Non-members violating this may be ask to leave and, if necessary, will be removed from the lobby.

Camping:

"Camping" is defined as showing in the room, but not responding to challenges or chat in the main lobby. Usually it is a result of someone being in the room, then leaving their computer and forgetting to come back or leave the room. If you appear in a room but are unresponsive to chat and not playing for a period of 10 minutes, it will be assumed you are "camping".
Other than Code of Conduct Violations, League admin and/or hosts may give "campers" a soft boot to clear them from any Private Ladder Room without warning.

Shared Lobby Etiquette
Groups that are not large enough or active enough to warrant their own League/Ladder Room will be asked to play in the General League/Ladder Room.
It is expected that all groups within a shared room will make every effort to coexist in a peaceful, respectful environment. The Administrators of these groups should meet occasionally to discuss mutual issues such as tournament schedules, the range of tables used by each group, etc. These discussions should not take place in the lobby.

In the event that a disagreement arises that cannot be settled by the groups’ administrators, the Safe Harbor Gaming Admin may be asked to mediate the dispute. This individual’s decision will be final.

Recruitment

While Safe Harbor Games hopes that each and every group will flourish and grow, there are some restrictions on how a group may recruit new members.

In a Private Room, members may actively recruit non-members visiting the lobby, including posting the URL to the Group’s Internet web site. This URL may also be placed in the Greet of the Private Room.

Inside of a shared room, members of one group may not directly target members of the other groups sharing the room for recruitment. If an individual asks for information about another group, it would be acceptable to provide that information. However, it is not acceptable to post unsolicited recruitment messages to individuals or groups.

Outside of the group’s room, direct recruitment is expressly forbidden.
Group members may advertise for their group in the social/rated areas to come meet that league/ladder in their room.
They may post, within a 4 line macro, the special items that league/ladder provides for its members, the room they play in, and their URL.
They may not advertise for any group function.
League/Ladders may not advertise within the Tournament Section.
Tournament Hosts may not advertise in the League/Ladder section.
Answers to unsolicited requests for information will be tolerated. However, anything more than a brief response should be given outside of the lobby.

Broadcast

We have created a tool that gives the Admins/TD's the ability to send out a one time, non-repliable message to those logged onto their friends list. Broadcasts should remain for the purpose of invitation to a specific league/ladder event. This tool is not for personal use. If any player requests to be removed from the Admin's/TD's Friends List, that request should be honored.

Dual Memberships and Group Rules

It is understood that some members may belong to more than one Group. Some Groups may have rules regarding these individuals with dual membership. Safe Harbor Games staff will not enforce these or any other Group rules. The Group Administrators will be expected to enforce their own rules.

Tournaments and Events

Tournaments and Events within a private league/ladder can be held and announced in both the lobby and the greet. These are closed to the public and are limited to ONLY those listed on the roster as members of that league/ladder. Any tournaments open to any/all players must be held in the Tournament section of that game, either in a Scheduled Tournament hosted by a Host, or in the Event Room for that game. League/Ladder members sharing in the General Ladder Room should hold tournaments in the General Ladder Tournament Room and co-ordinate tournaments/events with the other groups that co-exist in that room.

Greets for Private Rooms
A Greet may contain the URL of the Group of the Private Room, and may announce upcoming Events within that Private Room, or welcome players into the lobby. Safe Harbor Games staff will not touch the Greet, unless resetting lobbies, at which time the Greet must be redone by one of the Admins within that room. An Admin may not touch the Greet of any league/ladder room but their own. A TD may only put a Greet up within the guidelines given to them by their own Admins.

Crew Members

The lobbies at Safe Harbor Games are Crew Member specific. This means that tokens (and tools) will be available only in appropriate areas of the site. Each private league/ladder room will be issued Crew Member Tokens for their Administrators and TD's.
Admins: Your tokens will appear in all league/ladder rooms. If you enter another group's room, please ask whether your presence within that room while in token is acceptible.
TD's: Are asked to stay out of other league/ladder rooms in Token, since the purpose of the Token is to host within their own ladder. Respect to all league/ladder administrators will be shown.
